I have a 2019 GT1 RWD with the summer tires still on. Living in NC not sure if I should get all season, winter, or just not drive on the two days a year it snows here? Any thoughts from people in similar conditions? I've never dealt with a car that has summer tires before. Thanks!

I went the cost effective route with a set of steelies and some no-name Ovation W586 tires.

The Steelies are:. (yes they fit over the Brembo Calipers)

18 x 7.5
67.1 CB
5x114.3
ET42

225/45 R18 (all 4)

The 42 offset keeps the wheels inset just a bit to potentially protect the paint/body from debris. This offset isn't the best looking IMO, but it's just for the winter.

Just a word of caution..

I had 2 rims damaged by normal sized potholes with this setup.

I think these steelies are pretty soft - which made straightening them fairly easy as well.

I do not regret the purchase, and I would do it again, but they are not as strong as I expected them to be.

Or avoid all potholes (good luck)

Thanks for that.
I will keep this in mind. Are you still running the same type of rims for winter??

Not just same type.... Same rims.

I pounded them back round and re-balanced them both.

Silky smooth again.

Hey folks, I’m sorry for posting this, but I’m really looking for some help.

is there general consensus to go with ET35 wheels if running an 18x8 vs ET40? I’m looking at these specifically since Amazon will ship free to Alaska.

2020 GT2 AWD.

Konig Oversteer. 18x8. ET35. 5x114.3

Tire rack also ships here for a reasonable cost, but it’s a major pain (and cost) if I have to return them if they don’t fit.

sorry again, I did post a similar question in the new member section but I’m trying to not miss out due to their limited stock.

Thanks.

Kumho
Wintercraft WP72

Stock Aluminum Wheels
+5mm Spacer All Corners

245/40R19 Front
275/35R19 Rear

EXCELLENT FIT! Traction and control of these tires are like nothing I’ve experienced from a winter tire in full winter conditions before.
